In general, you should keep your child home from school when they have any of the following symptoms or illnesses:
- Fever
- Diarrhea (minimum of 48 hours from last episode)
- Vomiting (minimum of 48 hours from last episode)
- Norovirus (minimum of 48 hours from last episode)
- Certain illnesses and rashes like chickenpox, measles or hand, foot and mouth disease

Please remember to check your child’s vaccines are up to date. You can catch up on your MMR vaccine through your GP whatever your age.

Please notify the school as soon as possible on the first day of illness, either by calling 01753 830885 or emailing office@queenannefirstschool.org.uk giving your child’s name, year group and brief description of illness.
There is no need to call each day, however please call if your child is still absent from school on the following Monday, if absence will continue into the next week. Please note you must contact the school if your child is off on the last day of term, if the reason has not already been given. Failure to do so may result in a home visit.
