Pupil Leadership

Leadership at The Queen Anne is not reserved for a few; it is something every child is encouraged to experience in meaningful, age-appropriate ways throughout their time with us.

Across all year groups, pupils are trusted with real responsibility. Children take on roles such as Emotional Wellbeing Leads, supporting their peers and helping to promote a positive school culture. Sports leaders encourage participation, teamwork and fair play, both in lessons and at events.

Leadership is also woven into everyday classroom life. Children take on small but important responsibilities, such as classroom monitors, learning partners and helping to organise resources. These daily roles build independence, confidence and accountability from the earliest years.

Pupils also represent the school in a wide range of contexts, including sporting fixtures, festivals and competitions, as well as leading on ecology, singing and other whole-school initiatives. These experiences help children develop confidence, communication skills and pride in representing their school.

Leadership is visible at many moments across the school day: supporting a peer, leading a group activity, speaking confidently, or representing the school in the wider community.

Leadership is learnt through experience. By offering opportunities at every level, we ensure all pupils develop their voice, take responsibility and grow as confident, capable young leaders.
