Walking in the Footsteps of History

Walking in the Footsteps of History

For more than 300 years, the Royal Free Foundation has celebrated the importance of education through the gift of books. Founded in 1705 by Queen Anne, Prince George of Denmark and fellow Trustees, the Foundation believed that every child should have the opportunity to learn, grow and flourish.

Today, that tradition continues at Queen Anne Royal Free CE First School. Every new Royal Free receives a book to welcome them into our school community, while our Year 4 pupils are presented with a Bible as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.

These gifts are much more than books. They are a reminder that our children are walking in the footsteps of generations of Royal Free pupils who have been inspired by the same values of learning, faith and opportunity. We are proud to continue this special tradition and thank the Royal Free Trustees for helping to keep this remarkable legacy alive.
